On Wednesday 26 July, the RNZRSA's National Office hosted a special event as Dr Andy MacDonald, our Official Historian, was presented Honorary Captain's rank by the Chief of Navy Rear Admiral David Proctor.
In his address Rear Admiral Proctor made special mention of the outstanding contribution Dr MacDonald has made to documenting the history of New Zealand's military.
The ceremony was attended by the RNZRSA's National President Sir Wayne Shelford, senior Navy leaders, members of Dr MacDonald's family and friends.
Dr MacDonald's wife Lara placed the hat signifying the presentation of the rank.
Congratulations to the newly promoted Captain MacDonald.
