Model Constitution for Associations - Updates
The Model Constitution for Associations has been released and is available for download at the bottom of this page.
What is the Model Constitution for Associations?
The Model Constitution for Associations is a template designed to make it easier for Associations to draft their own Constitution. It provides the critical components of the RNZRSA Constitution that Associations are required to include, alongside all the legal requirements of the new Incorporated Societies Act 2022.
There are significant costs associated with ensuring a constitution is legally compliant, so having a template that ensures all legal requirements have been met provides a significant benefit to Associations. The RNZRSA has covered all legal fees for the development of the Model Constitution.
Using the Model Constitution for Associations is a requirement of membership to the RNZRSA and (among other things) entitles Associations to use the name Returned and Services’ Association (RSA) and intellectual property including the Poppy. Associations are able to include clauses specific to their own RSA which reflect their individual circumstances.
The Model Constitution for Associations is designed to be an innovative document which empowers Associations to carry on as entities in their own right while continuing to be part of the RSA movement.
