LCPL Jacinda Baker, KIA, Afghanistan 2012.
Lance Corporal Jacinda Baker, a New Zealand Army Medic killed in action in Bamyan, Afghanistan in 2012, has had her name added to the Rangiora Cenotaph, beside those of other soldiers fallen during military operations.
The inscription was unveiled at a ceremony in Rangiora on 19th August 2016, attended by LCPL Baker's family, friends and fellow soldiers, as well as members of the local community.
Members of the NZ Mounted Rifles Charitable Trust also attended, on horseback and in period costume, as well as young people from the schools LCPL Baker attended.
Flowers were placed by her name on the war memorial, prayers were said, and memories and tributes shared.
